DESCRIPTION:

On October 12th, 2010 the New York City Council introduced a bill (Introduction Number 371-2010) targeting pro-life organizations that offer information and assistance to women who are pregnant or believe that they may be pregnant, often called “crisis pregnancy centers” (CPCs). Yeah, this bill was unnecessary and clearly violates federal and New York law.

On January 10th, 2011, Walter B. Hoye II joined several Pro-Lifers rallying the public against Bill 371. During the rally, Walter talks about the birth of his first born son. The rally was a huge success.

On March 16th 2011, then Mayor Michael Bloomberg signed Bill 371-A into law, effective mid-July 2011.

However, in July 13th, 2011 District Judge William Pauley wrote in his opinion that the NYC rule was “unquestionably a direct limitation on free speech, adding a dig at the pro-abortion ACLU: “Given the New York Civil Liberties Union’s usual concern for First Amendment rights, its amicus brief supporting Defendant’s expansive view of the commercial speech doctrine is puzzling.”
