Hi everyone, today we're going to talk about hoʻoponopono, the Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness - perfect for repairing emotions after a breakup.
You may not have heard of hoʻoponopono, but it is a Hawaiian practice that offers a way to reconcile your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with universal principles. While this practice may seem exotic or difficult, it is actually a simple process that anyone can complete, either individually or with a partner or group. Simply put, Hooponopono is a process that helps you to take responsibility for, cleanse, and change your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
Now I want to say that this is not a magic spell, or a quick fix - but it is a great way to resolve and clean up the past all the while moving towards the future with a more positive outlook.
How does Ho'oponopono work?
We still don’t fully understand how such an ancient Hawaiian practice used for hundreds of years can help people eliminate negative thoughts and reactions in order to find their way back to a calm and peaceful state of being. It's used by those in many different walks of life, including therapists and counselors, to help their clients get to the roots of their problems. In a nutshell, the Ho'oponopono practice involves three basic steps: 1) admit the mistakes you have made, 2) admit that you are powerless to make them right, and 3) make a sincere and heartfelt apology.
