CANAL TV SOL - INDAIATUBA. Indaiatuba is a Brazilian municipality in the interior of the state of São Paulo. It belongs to the Mesoregion and Microregion of Campinas, located northwest of the state capital, at 23º05'24 "south latitude and 47º13'04" west longitude, at an altitude of 701 m. It occupies an area of ​​311.5 km² and its population estimated by the IBGE for 2017 was 239 602 inhabitants, [6] which placed it in the 32nd position among the most populous municipalities in the state of São Paulo. The name Indaiatuba comes from the old Tupi inaîatyba, "gathering of indaiás" (inaîá, "indaiá" and tyba, "gathering"). [7] The denomination was linked to the characteristics of the landscape and vegetation of the locality, which have already changed. It became official in 1830, although there is news that it was used before, already in the 18th century. [8]
