A Colonial Wake-up Call: an EMP Attack is Most Serious Threat Facing America

The Colonial Pipeline ransomware attack calls into question the security of infrastructure and the electric grid.

This is the REAL threat that no one is paying enough attention to.

Over the weekend, we learned the company that operates a pipeline transporting 45% of all fuel to the Northeast suffered a major ransomware, cyber attack. The oil markets are reacting sending oil and gasoline prices way up and the administration is promising that it’s working to make sure there are no major disruptions in supply.

BUT, doesn’t this highlight the most significant threat that the nation faces today? The threat of a cyber attack against our vulnerable infrastructure and grid? Why is the Biden administration promising just $100 billion to update the grid while it’s proposing $600+ billion in social “infrastructure programs?”

Experts say a major EMP attack would kill 90% of the U.S. population in one year. So, it should go without saying that the social programs—including affordable housing plans and elderly care—won’t do the country much good if we suffer a major security breach on our grid.
