one can be a mother without having given birth

Take a child under your wing to nurture and protect
and guide decisions wisely teaching how to select

Our children are a natural gift from Creator’s loving hand
generations carry on living in nations across all land

Each child grows and carries on, passing down our traits
destiny’s map leads each of us to our special fates

Cherish each day that comes along for these will quickly pass
a boy and girl too soon grow up, becoming lad and lass

And as your heart beats in your breast living out the days
we show our love in little things and many little ways

A very Happy Mother’s Day to every Mom today
you’ve earned the wrinkles on your face and each hair that is grey

Life is filled with love and wonder from gifts you’ve passed on down
