Joseph Robinette Biden was born on November 20, 1942 in Pennsylvania’s Scranton. After moving to Delaware at around 10 years old, he worked as a lifeguard in his early days. This heightened his interest in politics. After studying at the University of Delaware and Syracuse University Law school, he successfully ran for the US Senate in 1972. He would go on to be a 6-term senator until 2009. After unsuccessfully running for Presidential nomination in 1988 and 2008, he joined Barack Obama as his running mate and was sworn in as the 47th Vice-President of the United States in 2009. As VP, he helped shape many policies in the Obama administration, including the Affordable Care Act. Joseph Robinette Biden will be turning 78 years old as he takes the oath and will be the oldest person to become the President of the United States.
