Leadership Classics: Rick Warren | THREE LEADERSHIP TEMPTATIONS

For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world (1 John 2:16). NIV

Satan is very predictable. He has only three temptations and he uses the same ones in the lives of leaders. So you don’t have to be surprised by him. The Bible says all that is in the world is the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. The lust of the flesh is your passion. The lust of the eyes is possessions. The pride of life is position. If the Devil tries to bring you down as a leader, it’s going to be through passions, possessions, or position. That’s why the three most valuable values of a leader are purity, generosity, and humility.
