In my opinion, organized youth sports is detrimental for young kids. It gets in the way of authentic play that is so needed by young people. This video is an intro to my Rumble channel, Carrying Lawn Chairs, Youth Sports and Other Parental Mindsets. On my channel I will cover the chapters of the book and also delve into related areas involving youth and parents in today's society.
My book and this channel my bother some because I put forth many unconventional ideas. For example, I don't think organized sports can be improved for young children, I am against organized youth sports for young children. As mentioned, it gets in the way of authentic play that is so needed by children. That is where they gain self knowledge. Having self knowledge is how to best get along in the competitive world.
Young children don't like being involved in organized youth sports. They do so because it is what they think they have to do to get the love of their parents, which is a primary focus of young children.
Organized youth sports is a bizarre scene. The stands and lawn chairs are full of screaming parents and others so absorbed in watching young children on a sports venue.
In the first part of my book we will cover many hazards of youth sports from my perspective. In the second part we will cover many other topics related to young people and parents in today's society.
