NYPD searching for man caught on video running over bus driver in Brooklyn

The New York Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a man responsible for running over a school bus driver during a confrontation on Friday.

The incident, which was caught on video occurred around 5:15 p.m. Friday at the traffic light at the corner of Hinsdale Street and Linden Boulevard. The driver of the SUV began honking when the bus did not move when the light turned green. In the surveillance video, released by the NYPD, the man then exits his vehicle and begins hitting the windows of the school bus.

Police say the driver of the bus then exited the vehicle and stepped onto the median to take a picture of the driver, the man drove his car into and over her. The man then escaped down a side street, leaving the driver in the roadway.

The 44-year-old driver, whose name was not released, was taken to the hospital where she is in critical but stable condition. It appears she was able to take a clear picture of the vehicle and its license plate seconds before it hit her.
