Back to school time means it's time to have some fun with the kids to break up the monotony of daily routine. These Fruit and Veggie Bug Snacks are a blast to put together with your kids. Follow along with our tutorial, or use your imagination to make up some new little critters! This is a great way to introduce or encourage healthy eating with the little ones. This is even a great idea for a party activity, or for a weekend afternoon snack. Just remember, don't get bugged out - these are snacks, not real little insects!

Ingredients:

For the snails

- Celery stalks
- Peanut butter or cream cheese, at room temperature
- Sliced apple
- Sliced orange
- Sliced kiwi
- sliced cucumber
- Grape tomatoes
- Cashews

For the caterpillars

- Celery stalks
- Peanut butter or cream cheese, at room temperature
- Grapes
- Blueberries
- Grape tomatoes
- Candy eyes
- Celery matchsticks

Directions:

To make the snails, fill celery stalks with peanut butter or cream cheese and top with an apple, orange, kiwi, cucumber or tomato shell and a cashew head. Use peanut butter or cream cheese to glue on candy eyes. To make the caterpillars, fill celery stalks with peanut butter or cream cheese and top with grapes, blueberries or grape tomatoes for the body and head. Use peanut butter or cream cheese to glue on candy eyes and celery matchstick for antennae.
