For more, see "Two monks visit the Holy land: https://ocoy.org/our-holy-land-pilgrimage/ Every pilgrim who enters Jerusalem has as his goal the Church of Resurrection, the Holy Sepulchre. When members of our monastery visited in 2016, we spent many hours in this wondrous church, which houses both Golgotha, where Jesus was crucified, and the holy shrine of Christ's tomb from which he arose on the first Easter.

We start at the gates of the church. Straight ahead is the stone of anointing, which commemorates where Jesus body was prepared for burial. To the right (not shown in this video, is Golgotha, the place of crucifixion. To the left, and around the corner in the Edicule, the name given to the shrine of the tomb of Christ. Opposite the shrine is the main church. Behind the tomb you will see and hear a group of people singing. The Coptic (Egyptian) Church has a shrine at the backside of the Eidicule, where there are frequent prayers and services, which we hope to share in future videos.
