The monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) is a butterfly of the family of the nymphalids, of the subfamily of the danaines. They have about seventy millimeters of wingspan, orange wings with black stripes and white marks.
Its populations are native to North America and are known to carry out the longest migration carried out by an invertebrate in a single generation, the fourth generation.
