Why medical doctors are giving advice on what foods to eat?

Medical doctors are trained to prescribe pills. Pills are what gets you better. But what are doctors going to do when drugs are recalled because they cause cancer? What are you going to do when doctors don't have drugs to lower your blood pressure or blood sugar? Would you want to take a pill to feel better now and die of cancer later?
