Lakomi is an upper mid content wolfdog who lives at the sanctuary. We don't typically feed the wolves food other than meat, however she needed to take some medication and cheese was the only way to entice her. Wolves and wolfdogs are often very wary of humans and new experiences or items in their environment. This fear is called neophobia, and is one of the defining characteristics of wolves. Lakomi's neophobia won out over her trust of me and interest in the cheese during this video, but as you can see she quickly recovered and enjoyed her snack.
