India: It appears that a virus variant of Covid-19 is causing a new crisis. There is anecdotal evidence of infections even among those who have become vaccinated. Scientists say they need more data to determine the cause of what is causing the country’s second wave. For the most part the infections are causing mild symptoms, but this second wave is definitely different. The variant is more contagious and evades the protections of the immune system which might expand to another world-wide epidemic.
