Sea gulls

Gulls are to Essaouira what pigeons are to Venice, they are omnipresent and become a symbol of the Moroccan city.
In the morning, at dawn, we hear them squealing then the cries intensify according to the back and forths of the fishermen who unload the fresh fish.
Approaching the port, it is the frenzy, each gull (and there are many) trying to steal sardines, eels, and other fish from fishermen who try to avoid these clever and little fearful looters.
Often taken for seagulls in common parlance, gulls are recognizable by the red dot that adorns their yellow beak (clearly visible in the photo). They are also bigger than seagulls.
