DIY Garage Cabinet with Peg Board Door

Hey Everyone!

I debated making this video because I wasn't really sure how or if it would turn out. I've never worked with MDF before and didn't know if it would hold what I needed it for.

With my small garage/shop, I don't have many places to put things and the wall space is limited. Two weeks ago, I got a wild hair and decided to clear out and organize the garage. I wanted to build a cabinet that would hold all of my wood screws, nails, saw blades and a few hand tools. So a cabinet with a peg board front is what I wanted to build.

Being that it is MDF and not a strong as wood, I decided not to add the saw blades in fears that it would be way too heavy. The cabinet itself is heavy and then attaching the door would probably be the limit. (I also attached a 1x2 to help support the door when it's closed...b/c again it is heavy) I was going to do a French Cleat on the back, but totally forgot about it when cutting the side panels. So I have some heavy duty hangers on the back and a L bracket at the base to give it a little extra stability.

In the end, I'm very happy with the way it turned out. In the end this thing is solid and as long as I'm not flinging the door open, it will hold all of my tool and not droop or fall apart. Take a look at the video and tell me what you think!

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. This video has no instructions and I just built & figured things out as I went along. If you are new here, welcome! Please like share and subscribe if you haven't already!

Thanks for watching and happy building!
