Governor Gavin Newsom's Recall Confirmed a Go By The Secretary of State, the 2nd in 20 Years

1,626,042 valid signatures have been processed by the California Secretary of State thereby triggering the Recall of Gavin Newsom. There are a few more steps to follow (Signature Match if you can believe it), but the certification is expected by September and an Election around November. This will be the second recall of a Californian Governor in 14 years, the last being Gray Davis in 2003, a Democrat, who was replaced by a "Republican" Arnold Schwarzenegger. Will it happen again? Given the current crop, highly, HIGHLY unlikely. This is just the first day, and by Election Day in 2003, there were 135 Candidates, so the Republicans will certainly field something better than an also ran, former mayor and an ancient Decathlete vying for a vehicular homicide pardon.
