20210426 Not the Sword - The Daily Summation

Yes, it's true the Bible talks about "fearing the sword."

The question though is, "Who IS the sword?"

I submit there are a LOT of folks (particularly Christians) who DON'T understand that statement like they seem to believe they do.

I don't believe Christianity is AT ALL intended to be that authority.

Can individual Believers be so? I suppose that's possible.

From all I'm able to tell though, they cannot assume they ARE so, as a result (necessarily) of being Christian. Donkeys and ancient (non-Jewish and not Christian) leaders of various types WERE. As such, assuming such authorities MUST BE Believers is AT BEST a pretty bad bet.
