Bearded dragons and cockatoos both need plenty of sunshine and out of cage or enclosure time. Sebastian, the lizard, loves to spend time on the window sill to enjoy the view and the warmth. And so does Onni, the teenage cockatoo.

Normally the two are always kept separate because Onni would certainly hurt him unintentionally ... or not. However, Onni is obsessed with the little lizard. Rebecca. the owner, explains that whenever it's Sebastian's turn to be out, Onni rattles his cage and screams incessantly. A cockatoos scream can be equal the decibels of a jet engine!

Rebecca came up with the idea that if she let Onni see Sebastian and what he was all about, he would get over some of his obsession and his screaming would lesson. She says, "I thought if I took some of the mystery out of the equation Onni's behavior would improve. They both love to sun bath, so I thought that would be a nice place for Onni to see Sebastian up close".

Bearded dragons are inquisitive and sweet creatures. On the other hand cockatoo's can be anything but. They are balls of feathered energy with the intelligence of a small child, and can be quite naughty. The dragons curiosity doesn't hold a candle to a parrots.

Sebastian is curious about Onni when they meet. Onni is cautious, but his eyes quickly light up and he moves closer. Like a child, he can't resist touching him. He reaches out and gently touches Sebastian and pets him. But then Onni moves closer and wants to also mouth him. A birds beak is like a third hand to them, so it's natural Onni would want to do that. Given the fact that that beak can break a stainless steel chain in half, Rebecca discourages him. She see's that Onni's behavior gets more intense and he signals that he is getting irritated at Rebecca trying to control the meeting. And so she ended it.

Did the little experiment work? "No... just no", Rebecca laughed. "Sadly it didn't get better or worse. Onni wants what he wants. He wants all of our attention. And he wants that lizard!
