An Evening Talk on "Freemason" by Dr. Omar Zaid

Prior to his reversion to Islam in 2004, Dr. Zaid was raised Catholic along the river front industrial towns south of Philadelphia. A professional musician for over 20 years from the age of 13, he also served in the US Army in Europe during the Vietnam war.

He has 13 years of formal post-secondary education: 3 years Liberal Arts as a Music Major; 3 years Pre-Med science, and 7 years post graduate training in Medicine (M.D. from University of South Dakota, 1987). He practised medicine in several countries for over twenty years; this included ten years as an inner-city E.R. Doctor in the U.S. and Caribbean, and in Australia amongst the Aborigines. He is also a trained Homeopath.

In his search for truth Dr. Zaid explored occult metaphysics became intimate with Dr. Rudolph Steiners Enthroposophy, became freemason then a Born Again Christian before finally reverting to Islam in 2004.

From 1994 to 2005, he lived on a farm which he built in the Borneo jungle with his third wife (a Borneo Dayak) and their two sons. This wife (a Christian Missionary) later divorced him as a result of his conversion to Islam. He now has two wives, Mutmainah from Indonesia, and Kamuntip from Thailand. After his conversion to Islam in 2004, Dr. Zaid edited scholarly texts for the International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilisation ISTAC), International Islamic University Malaysia and Islamic Books Trust in Kuala Lumpur. He also edited Masters & Doctoral thesis papers for grad students of the University of Malaya; and taught English to international students at two other Malaysia universities.
