What is that in your hand?

There are several places in the Bible where God asks someone a question. Why would the all knowing God ask anyone a question? Can a human being provide God with information that he doesn’t already know? Or course not. When God asks someone a question, he does so, not for his benefit, but for the benefit of that person.

In today’s message, we will be looking at Moses. We know Moses as one of the greatest men of God who ever lived. But when God called Moses to return to Egypt and become the instrument for the liberation of the people of Israel from bondage, Moses was reluctant to answer the call. He felt inadequate and thought that God had chosen the wrong person for such a task. While Moses was arguing with God, God asked him a simple question: “What is that in your hand?” What was the impact of this question on the ministry of Moses, and what are the implications for us today?
