Electric Yellow Lab breeding

Jan 27, 2021, caught the yellow labs doing their thing. Electric Yellow labs are one of many Mbuna cichlids originating from Lake Malawi in Africa. Yellow labs are some of the larger Mbuna, reaching 5-6 inches in length, and many say they are one of the less aggressive Mbuna species. All Mbuna cichlids are mouth brooders, meaning they fertilize eggs on the ground and then the female picks them up with her mouth and holds them there (3-4 weeks) until they are free swimming fish! Pardon my dirty tank, usually these bright yellow fish stand out much more. They go great against a dark blue or black background!
