Supremes Turning Left, 3582

Good morning, I’m still reporting on the coup.
Since the Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, John Roberts, was appointed by President George W. Bush, it should come as no surprise that Roberts is not a conservative.
You would expect Roberts to be a moderate like Bush, but not the leftwing liberal he has become.
It appears that Robert’s is taking the path of former Supreme Court Justice David Souter who was appointed by President George H. W. Bush who also was not a conservative, but Souter far from being a moderate became a reliable vote for the liberal wing of the Supreme Court.
It’s an interesting phenonenom that Supreme Court Justices appointed by Democratic Presidents can be relied upon to vote in a liberal block. It is rare for one to get peeled off to vote against the others. But justices appointed by Republican presidents like Souter and now Roberts over time turn into reliable liberal votes. Maybe it’s something in the water at the Supreme Court, or reading the local newspaper, The Washington Post day after day, the far left philosophy of that formerly great paper, slips into their system.
Roberts joining in the descent on whether religious meetings in homes in California can be limited to three households, is about as big an attack on religious liberty as you can imagine. The Constitution recognizes the human right of religious freedom. It doesn’t offer any caveats for pandemics, religious beliefs that the majority consider outlandish or for times of national stress.
The majority of the justices Thomas, Kavanaugh, Barrett, Gorsuch and Alito found that people had the same right to worship as they had to go to hairdresser or grocery store.
If people had been restricted to buying staples needed for survival in grocery stores the argument still wouldn’t hold, but would make more sense.
Nobody has to get their hair styled to survive a pandemic and there is no indication that people with stylish hair were less likely to catch the virus than those with tangled locks.
The attempt by California to restrict religious worship services was clearly an attack on religion by the left and Roberts joined in.
Roberts made a sharp left turn when he changed his opinion on the individual mandate in Obamacare and redefined a penalty as a tax.
Now Roberts has decided that putting restrictions on religious assemblies is not restricting and regulating people’s right to worship.
According to Roberts twisted reasoning, getting a haircut has more constitutional protections than religion.
Some thought that President Trump’s appointment of three conservative justices would give conservatives a 6 to 3 majority on the court, but it’s clear now that with Roberts leading the liberal wing, that conservatives have a 5 to 4 majority.
But as the Trump appointees get their feet wet and realize that there is nothing conservative about Roberts, that conservative majority should solidify.
It is true that the name John Roberts appears on page 562 of the Jeffrey Epstein documents in a flight log for the infamous Lolita Express. Chief Justice Roberts has never publicly commented on that name being on the list and it is not an uncommon name, but then again Epstein didn’t invite just any Tom, Dick Harry or John on his plane, but did invite princes and ex-presidents.
I’m still reporting from just outside the citadel of world freedom. Good day.
