On April 14, 2021, the Canadian Frontline Nurses held the world's first protest against a professional healthcare body, the College of Nurses of Ontario, in Toronto.
Ex-Ontario Provincial Police Officer, Vincent Gircys, joined the panel of speakers to read a letter from an anonymous nurse, afraid to speak for fear of losing her job.
Gircys is a member of Police on Guard for Thee, a group of active and retired Police Officers who believe that Covid-19 measures "are not only in conflict with our Charter Oath but also place active duty police officers in an untenable position when directed by politicians and senior management to enforce these emergency measures." www.policeonguard.ca
