Installing a bee package into a 10 frame deep, start with drawn comb ... if possible, remove the sugar can and the queen cage keep the bees inside the package (spray with 1:1 sugar syrup if needed to keep them from flying...keep a lid on the opening..,. insert the queen cage between the frames... make sure the screened area is open for the attendants to feed her... make sure the sugar plug is positions UP so if an attendant dies she will not block the hole.... put an empty deep brood box on top of the framed box, remove the lid from the package, gently invert the package and set on top of the frames with the opening facing down onto the frames....do not shake it out....put the lid on.....make sure the entrance reducer is set to a small opening... this is a weak hive and is prone to attack..... wait 24 hours and come back .... open up the top box.... remove the package.... lingering bees may be inside... you can place the package next to the entrance .... check on the queen... make sure she is alive ... make sure she is being attended to and the sugar plug is facing up.... come back in a few days to make sure the queen is released....if you notice the queen is out ... close up the hive and leave them alone for 2 weeks to 21 days.... check back in the hive... look for brood or eggs.... if you find no evidence of a queen and you hav done an inspection.... try to re queen asap... your nurse bees only have a small window of time before they will be gone
