Show me your friends and I will show you your future. The friends do not really matter in this anecdote. The main thing that people are receiving is communication. Therefore, the saying should be, show me your thoughts and I will show you your future. It is the things in life that communicate with people is what impacts them. It can help them overcome obstacles or create self-inflicted stress.

If a person surrounds themselves with people who are depressing, toxic, and unhealthy. Then, those thoughts will likely be projected onto one another. Whereas, if the person surrounds themselves with successful, positive, and uplifting people then their thoughts will become more optimistic.

It is so important to surround yourself with successful and unbiased people. If there is a person who has made mistakes in life and has overcame them or has achieved some sort of success, then the principles they applied turn their life around will likely be helpful in some way down the road.
