A VERY embarrassing MOMENT ////

In the perception of the vast majority, this habit is caused by intestinal worms, but pinworms, the worms that cause itching, are quite rare in dogs. But we cannot completely rule them out, so this may be one of the reasons.

The most common cause is a condition of the perianal glands, located on the sides of the anus, which if affected can cause itching and pain.

Most often they become inflamed due to the impossibility of draining them. They are physiologically emptied at the time of defecation, but there are cases where this does not happen.

They must be emptied by the owner, or preferably by a veterinarian. Other problems that can occur in the perianal glands are infections or tumors, in which case you should consult a specialist to make a correct diagnosis and institute appropriate treatment.

Another cause of "pulling on the bottom" may be constipation. And this situation occurs quite rarely, but it must be taken into account if there is no other problem.

When you notice this habit manifested by your dog, it is recommended to visit a veterinarian to remedy the problem.
