Testing for HOT TUB TDS / How To Test HOT TUB Water TDS
TDS stands for Total Dissolved Solids and it is a measure of the amount of solids that are dissolved in water. In a hot tub the solids are usually organic matter, inorganic matter such as metals and any other material or debris that isn’t water. Hot Tub TDS is a measure of water quality in terms of purity and cleanliness. Even before you take a TDS reading you might be noticing some fairly obvious symptoms of high TDS levels in your hot tub water. These include algae, discolored water, water that smells fishy, foamy or just looks or feels dirty.
