From the Order's establishment in Havana, Cuba to its goals of setting up an agricultural monopoly, and the influence that the Order had in both government's Northern and Southern Clint explains how his study of the Knights of the Golden Circle has helped him to make sense of a at least two or three decades of history.

KGC members were politicians in both governments and officers in BOTH armies. Thus the outcomes of battles were often predetermined by the KGC.

And the Order did not cease to function when the War ended. In fact, modern-day companies like Coca-Cola can trace their origins to members of the Golden Circle who used KGC money and connections to build what today are business empires.

John Wilkes Booth, Jessie James and Mexican Emperor Maximilian may have been the most prominent members of the KGC.
