Episode 81 - Marx was always known for producing simple and inexpensive, but durable and fun trains. In the 1970s and 1980s Lionel (MPC) took a page out of the Marx handbook by producing a low-tech, low-cost, simple, and somewhat effective sound enhancement for their budget trains - alternately called the Mechanical Sound Of Steam or Chugging Sound Of Steam.
