Why not try Sturgeon fishing in New Brunswick?

We hit the waters to try to land a monster sturgeon. We didn't quite get to handle a record fish, but these fish are one of the coolest species we have around here. Did you know there are 24 species of sturgeon in the world and they are native to the Caspian sea? We have two species in NB (Atlantic and Snortnose) in the Saint John and lower Kennebecasis river system. These fish can live 60-70 years old and have the coolest look and texture. Be careful those Scutes are sharp if you get a chance to hook into one.

Gear is not complicated and you can fish them from shore. Larger heavy rod set up with some 2-4 Oz weights. The rules are single barbless hook. Cover the entire hook with worms, chuck it out there and wait (bring a coffee).
