Does the Senate Floor Version of HB2645 Need to Specify that Rape Can Be Banned on a College Campus?

Those concealment purses that so many ladies are enamored with, which are never a good idea (if someone steals your purse, now they have your gun too), are still considered concealed carry.

The proposed change to the SDA will only require that OPENLY CARRIED firearms are carried with the barrel pointed up or down (vertically) - assuming they are carried using a sling.

This is a completely unnecessary provision that is a literal infringement.

Also, the using of fences, a single police officer and a single metal detector to ban guns on PUBLIC PROPERTY has nothing to do will college campuses. It is already illegal to have a gun there (unless you have written permission from the president of the college) and colleges are already free to implement whatever security measures they want. Otherwise, why not add a provision to Oklahoma law that would ban rape or murder on a college campus even though it is already illegal to commit those crimes there?

Also, keep in mind that, under current state law, it is considered OPEN CARRY to have a gun in a case designed for carrying firearms. If the "vertical barrel" provision were to be applied to ALL openly carried firearms and not just those carried via sling, then I guess will have to look silly hugging our gun cases instead of using the built-in carry handles so that we don't break the law.

And, yes, the most recent version (Senate Floor) version of HB2645 still says that if you are not an Oklahoma and you have a handgun license from another state, you are to be discriminated against and denied equal protection of the law in that you will be required to notify LEOs immediately upon contact, without them asking you, that you are armed.
