Simple technique that can help you figure out if the fact that your truss rod is too tight or loose is causing your frets to push. Applying pressure to the back of the neck with your hand simulates the tightening or loosening of your truss rod while you fret. This technique lets you figure out which way to adjust BEFORE you get the wrench out. Adjusting the truss rod with the action set up medium at the bridge is probably the best way to go to make sure that the action being too low isn't causing the buzz. Other issues that could also cause fret are high or low frets, warped necks or finger boards or other things that a luthier might have to fix for you. Try the easy stuff yourself first!

Our lucky victim today is a Washburn Stu Hamm SHB60TSS bass guitar in Tobacco Sunburst Sparkle.
