1. Work towards getting in shape.
a. Homesteading is difficult work. You will not succeed if you are lazy.
2. Start learning about the vegetation around you.
a. Nature provides an abundance of food and medicine that doesn’t require a garden.
3. Start building your homestead library.
a. It’s like having your Grandpa and all of his wisdom on hand for everything!
4. Start breeding rabbits.
a. They’re quiet and take up little space
b. Leaner than chicken, higher in protein than chicken, lower in cholesterol than chicken.
i. Can be substituted for chicken in any chicken recipe.
5. Start a garden.
a. Aside from the obvious, there is a learning curve to successfully growing your own food.
