In this video I explain everything you need to know to be able to understand the differences between position, Displacement, and Total Distance Traveled. I walk you through an example to show you how to calculate the Position of an object, its Displacement, and the Distance Traveled. I show you what to do with the initial position and how it factors into finding the position of the object. Additionally, I show you a strategy for how to do these kinds of problems by hand and give you a graphical understanding of the difference between displacement and total distance traveled. I also point out common mistakes, misconceptions, and errors that I've seen student make in the classroom and show you how to avoid them.
