U-M Attacks Republican Regent. Will the Legislature Fight Back?

The University of Michigan Regents have stripped the sole Republican Regent, Ron Weiser, of committee assignments and called for his resignation because of an appropriate joke he made. It raises an interesting question: Why does the Republican legislature keep shoveling taxpayer money to U-M, and will they continue to do so, or fight back?
