💦 How to Make a Stock Tank Pool | DIY | Pinterest

This video is everything you need to get started with making your own stock tank pool for this scorching hot summer!

The pump listed above is the new Intex pump model, as the one I bought 1 month ago and is in this video just went end-of-life. Unfortunately/Fortunately Intex has now switched over their manufacturing towards medical supplies this summer and pumps aren't as available as they once were.

The hook-ups are the same and the additional pieces you will need are the exact same, so no worries there.

The basic steps for setting up your galvanized metal stock tank pool are:

Step 1:
Level the ground and set the pool in a desirable location.

Step 2:
Cut a 2 3/4" hole near the bottom side of the tank.
Cut a 2 3/4" hole near the top side of the tank.
Slip the intake filer into the bottom hole, and the outtake (or jet) into the top hole and screw them on.

Step 3:
Apply caulk around the intake and outtake

Step 4:
Screw on the plunger valves. These valves are so you can remove the pool pump filter without having a ton of water drain out.
Then screw one end of each hose onto these plunger valves.

Step 5:
Screw the intake hose onto the intake side of the pump (the shorter canister)
Screw the outtake hose onto the outtake side of the pump (the taller round canister)

Step 6:
Fill the pool up with water, turn on the pump, and have an amazing time swimming around and staying cool in the summer.

The tank I got was 8' and it can easily fit 2 floating rafts and a baby raft for our little baby.
