Did you know that you can get water to float on water?
In this experiment you will see it happen! Heat and hot water rises because the same number of molecules take up more space. When water is hot the molecules are very active, move around a lot, bump into each other, moving so quickly that there is space between them. These spaces between the molecules mean that hot water is less dense than cold or room temperature water.
In this video you will see a very cool experiment that will sure to bring amazement to all you show it too. Watch the red colored water rise magically looking just like a volcano. This is a fun science experiment for all ages.

Science Rocks videos are created by Jules and her Nana while doing home school science experiments. We started home school science in 2019 and both of us have learned a lot and had a lot of fun! Follow us and join in the learning and fun!
