Boston Dynamics is an American engineering company, and it’s just introduced us to ‘Stretch’, a robot designed to assist with warehouse-based tasks – such as heavy lifting, unloading trucks, and stacking boxes.
It’s a pretty comprehensive piece of kit, complete with a robotic arm, ‘smart gripper’ and a mobile base. In the slow walk towards mass automation, ‘Stretch’ is certainly a glimpse of what’s to come.
And if the salary isn’t up to scratch?
No worries… It’ll be back.
