A Convenience Store Clerk In Texas Shot A Homeless Man After He Said He Feared For His Life.

It happened at a convenience store in Houston. According To Police, A Homeless Man Became Agitated When The Store Clerk Went Outside To Take Out The Trash Thinking The Clerk Was Trying To Steal Some Of His Items. That's When Authorities Say The Homeless Man Charged At The Store Clerk At Which Point The Clerk Pulled Out His Pistol And Shot The Homeless Man Twice In The Chest.

The Man Was Taken To The Hospital For Treatment.

The Annual Report From The Texas Homeless Network Says That More Than 27,000 People Experienced Homelessness In Texas In 2020 - With Nearly 4,000 Experiencing Chronic Homelessness.

More Than 11,000 Homeless People Have Reported Having A Mental Illness Or Substance Abuse Disorder And Nearly 2,000 Homeless People Were Identified As Veterans.
