20210328 Abuse of Charity - The Daily Summation

I can't speak for ANYBODY ELSE, but I've ALMOST NEVER needed charity from outside of my own family (and really, my "need" was more perceived then, than real).

It's a shameful thing to me, that at a couple of times in past, I've visited food pantries--not because I don't believe there aren't those in definite need (in fact, for precisely the OPPOSITE REASON), there certainly are. Thing is, I was STILL ABLE TO PROVIDE FOR MYSELF, even when I was what many would have counted "down and out."

You may not think it's a big deal to drive up to a food pantry in a fancy car, holding your fancy cellular phone. You'll excuse me while I disagree.

I'm not BY FAR as "good at" charity as I should be. That said, AT LEAST I'm not going to take the things those in need might avail themselves of no matter HOW easy that would be to do.

This is the discussion on today's edition of The Daily Summation from Kurt's Religion and Politics.
