醉蝶花是一二年生草本植物。
花莖直立，株高40-60釐米，有的可達1米。
葉片是掌狀複葉，小葉5-7枚。
總狀花序頂生，花苞紅色，花瓣玫瑰紅色或白色。
花莖長而壯實，花開時，成一個豐滿的花球，
花朵如翩翩起舞的蝴蝶，非常美麗奪目。

The leaves are palmately compound leaves with 5-7 small leaves.
The racemes are terminal, the buds are red, and the petals are rose red or white.
