Hurricane Sandy aftermath - Upper East Side, Manhattan, New York City

The night before Hurricane Sandy hit, I had just moved to a room in a 5th floor walkup on East 88th Street, between 1st and 2nd Avenue. My roommate was a unique character who I describe in my first novel "the rails" (TheRailsNYC.com). In the novel, Jill, a street photographer, has a roommate who is modeled after her.

Here's some footage of the Upper East Side, Manhattan, New York City, the day after Hurricane Sandy hit.

(I am going through a bunch of videos I have from when I lived in New York City (Manhattan and Brooklyn) and am probably going to upload most of them here on Rumble. Why? To preserve them and also to share them with anyone who may be interested in watching them. YouTube has turned is run by politically-correct tyrants and also shuts down sites at will. Rumble seems to be a more fair option, as it is decentralized.)

Thanks for watching!

I paid $700 dollars a month for this: A 7' x 10' room, in a fifth floor walkup, in Manhattan, New York City. The area was nice, quiet, and near amenities (laundry mat, grocery store). A magnificent church sat directly across the street, with a beautifully-treed courtyard area out front. The room, in the 5th floor walkup, was located on 88th Street, between 1st and 2nd Avenue. Nearby, on 86th Street, that lead to the subway, was a movie theatre, a grocery store, an electronics store, a phone store, a Barnes & Nobles (free events), a Shake Shack, and at the corner of 88th and 1st was a Vietnamese restaurant with delicious food and reasonably priced lunch specials. My friend, Marian, who I met on the set of "Spiderman" movie, we were both BackGround (BG) actors aka "extras", and I would go to the restaurant for lunch. Good times.
