Accident Hospitalizes 3 (2 flown out), GOODRICH, March 22, 2021 - At approximately 10:55 am on March 22, 2021, a gray 2014 Jeep Wrangler, driven by Selena Simmermann, 58, of Henderson, was south-bound on US-59. As Henderson was passing the north end of Loop 393, a green 1999 Ford F-150 pickup, driven by Perry Kipodeaux, 68, of Livingston, pulled off of 393 (attempting to cross 59 S.) and failed to yield to Simmermann. The vehicles collided. Both vehicles went into the center median. Allegiance and Texan EMS ambulance services were dispatched to the scene along with the Goodrich Volunteer Fire Department and Troopers Kevin Burman, Corporal Ramey Bass, and Sergeant Sam Lattner with the Texas Highway Patrol. Simmermann was physically okay. Kipodeaux and two of his passengers were hosptialized. Kipodeaux was flown by medical helicopter to Hermann Hospital in Houston. His male passenger was flown to Kingwood Hospital. His female passenger was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital. One lane of traffic on the south-bound side of 59 was blocked during investigation and cleanup. Kipodeaux was cited for failure to yield and no driver's license. His male passenger was cited for no seatbelt and his female passenger was cited for possession of marijuana. Simmermann's vehicle was recovered by Fawbush Wrecker and will be stored in Goodrich. Kipodeaux's vehicle was recovered by Dan's Towing and will be stored in Livingston.
