Testing new small camera shooting handheld 4K. Nikon Coolpix A900. Looks great on a 50" HDTV. Unedited other than trimming and combining clips. Downgraded for upload to 1080p.

Won't replace my larger cameras but can't always carry them with me. Been a Panasonic fan for years (currently own 8 of theirs) so bought their new ZS60 and was very disappointed, like this one much better and it costs less. My first Nikon. Have seen some bad reviews of this camera but with the right settings and expectations I've got some good output. Stills on https://www.flickr.com/photos/wideeyevideo/albums/72157678458819896

I don't see much sense in 4K TVs since I agree with several tech articles that the human eye has it's limitations and you'd need a huge screen and have to be way too close to see any real difference, but 4K video has the advantage of allowing for more editing (cropping especially) without looking horrible. Another advantage is to save still frames at a much higher resolution than 1920X1080, which I've tried and they came out great.

Usually I will downscale any recorded 4K from 4K to 1080P for uploading. I expect my main video camera (Panasonic X920) and my main still camera (Panasonic FZ1000) to remain what I use on planned shoots.
