Description
It used to be that doctors recommended the same diet for everyone with an ulcer: Avoid spicy foods and eat bland ones. But today doctors know that spicy foods do not cause an ulcer and bland diets do not necessarily help in ulcer treatment.
While it is true that specific foods do not cause ulcers, they can make symptoms worse,

foods may cause discomfort for people with an ulcer:
Meats with a high-fat content
High-fat condiments
Citrus fruits and juices
Tomato products
Coffee and tea — either caffeinated or decaffeinated
Alcoholic beverages
Spicy foods
Chocolate
