Thank you for clicking on the video! In the 80's and 90's, TV game shows captured the minds of Americans all across the country. Wheel of fortune, Jeopardy, The Price is right, you name it. All of these games gave people a chance to win prizes, vacations or cash money for their knowledge or quick responses to questions or competitive events. Noticing this craze of the time, Williams Manufacturing company decided to try their hand at a game show in the form of an arcade coin-op game developed and created by Eugene Jarvis, and Mark Turmell. Drawing inspiration from the Arnold Swarzeneggar movie, Running Man which released in the late 80's, the idea for Smash TV was born and released to the arcades in 1990. This game was action packed, violent, addictive, and the rest was history.
