Shadow's last meal.

Our black Lab named Shadow had been with us for the last 14+ years. We raised him since he was a little puppy and he was the best dog a family could ever have. He had a cancerous tumor show up less than 2 months ago and the Vet removed all of it that he could find but, sadly we noticed his right front leg had swelled considerably on Wednesday and I took off from work the next day to take him to the Vet. His lymph node on his right chest area had also swelled so the Vet recommended that we make the humane decision and have him put to sleep. I agreed but, told him that we were going to take him to get a nice steak first from a local steak house first, so I called the Rusty Spur in Pulaski, TN a few minutes before they actually opened to place the order and explained that we needed a large sirloin cut into cubes and a piece of Texas toast. When we arrived a few minutes later, I go in to pick it up and was told there would be no charge. There are still some fine compassionate people out there who love animals like they are family.
