Melatonin A Covid Treatment? - Cleveland Clinic’s Genomic Medicine Institute

Lead researcher Feixiong Cheng of the Cleveland Clinic’s Genomic Medicine Institute has released results of a survey of the data on nearly 27,000 people at the hospital. The surprising conclusion is taking melatonin may help prevent a Covid infection and perhaps treat it. Researchers are not sure why melatonin could be a treatment for coronavirus and it does need more study, but one possibility is the hormone may help the strengthen the immune system through better sleep. There is also data that suggests melatonin helps regulate the immune system.
